Jim was born in Montreal, Quebec, travelled west and graduated from the University
of British Columbia in English and History.
He has worked at a variety of occupations ranging from mining to truck-driving
and baking. Jim taught high-school English in the public school system
before joining OUC in 1989.
Leisure interests include woodwork, gardening, and travel.
