ESL STAFF: Kate Gilchrist

Kate began her teaching career in ESL with CUSO in Nigeria from 1980-1982. Upon returning to Canada she taught with several different school systems in Ontario. At Okanagan University College she has developed the College's first Combined Skills Program, which combines ESL with Cook Training. Kate also teaches English Essentials, Speaking, Reading and Writing at OUC.

Kate Gilchrist:
  • graduated from York University with a degree in Sociology and Education.
  • has a specialization in Teaching English as a Second Language Masters Degree in Curriculum Development from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) in Toronto, Ontario.
